Background Information :

Pending the approval of the School Board, the Transportation Department is wanting to take bids for the purchase of (4) four (78) seventy-eight passenger school buses. These buses will replace four of the buses in the fleet. These buses are being replaced due to their age. Upon approval to accept bids, the Transportation Department will send out the specifications and bid invitations to the school bus vendors. No purchase will be authorized until funding is secured and approved in the 2018-2019 Obion County School System budget.

Staff Recommendation:

With this approval, it is the intent of the Board and management that no liability will be incurred, nor a purchase order issued, until the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018.
